Background: The pharmaceutical industry plays a role in the manufacture of drugs and raw materials that support a healthy lifestyle. These activities must adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) guidelines. Pharmacists play a crucial role in the pharmaceutical industry, implementing GMP as those responsible for quality assurance, production, and quality control. Therefore, prospective pharmacists need to acquire adequate knowledge and experience to meet the competency standards required in industrial pharmacy through the Pharmacist Professional Internship (PKPA).
Objective: Pharmacist Professional Internship (PKPA) is carried out with the aim of providing supplies, skills and expertise to prospective pharmacists by directly observing the roles, functions and responsibilities of pharmacists in the pharmaceutical industry and understanding the implementation of GMP.
Summary: The PKPA program at PT Dankos Farma includes placement in the Oral Non-Beta Lactam (NBL) department and an understanding of other departments within the industry through induction. The program focuses on the pre-production machine performance qualification process for non-beta lactam drug manufacturing.
Conclusion: Based on the PKPA implementation, the author gained an understanding of the implementation of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and the role of pharmacists in ensuring drug quality, safety, and process efficiency in the pharmaceutical industry. PT Dankos Farma has implemented GMP aspects effectively to produce safe, high-quality, and effective drugs.
