Abstract
One of the reproductive health concerns of women is uterine myoma. Although
only a benign tumor, many cases of uterine myoma are performed by
hysterectomy. This study aims to describe the nursing care of postoperative
hysterectomy patients with indications of uterine myoma in the Maternity Hospital
room Prof. Dr. Chairuddin panusunan Lubis. The method used is a case study
with a nursing process approach. The reference used is the SDKI. The result is
that there are 3 nursing diagnoses that are established, namely acute pain, body
image disturbance, and physical mobility disorder. Nursing implementation
carried out is a physical examination, assessment of pain scale, monitoring
muscle strength and assessing body image. In addition, the nurse practiced ROM
to increase the patient's muscle strength. Nursing evaluation showed that the pain
score decreased from 4 to 1, and the patient had increased self-confidence. In
addition, right-left upper and lower extremity muscle tone increased from 1 to 5.
Comprehensive nursing care for post hysterectomy can overcome the problems of
acute pain, body image disturbances and impaired physical mobility. It is
recommended that nurses be able to apply comprehensive nursing care to mothers
post hysterectomy surgery with indications of uterine myoma which includes
physical and psychosocial aspects.
