    Determinants of Mother's Behavior in Fulfilling the Baby's Right to Get Exclusive Breastfeeding in the Working Area of Tanah Tinggi Public Health Center Binjai City in 2025

    Abstract
    Every baby has the right to exclusive breastfeeding from birth until six months of age. Exclusive breastfeeding is a government programs that must be implemented to improve the nutritional status of infants. The low coverage of exclusive breastfeeding remains a serious problem that must be addressed promptly and cannot be ignored, because will impact on the growth and development of future generations. Binjai city is one of the areas in North Sumatra Provincial that still has a low coverage of exclusive breastfeeding is 14,95%. In the working area of Tanah Tinggi Public Health Center in Binjai City, the coverage of exclusive breastfeeding in 2023 is 27,4%. The aim of this research was to determine the factors related to mother’s behavior in fulfilling the baby’s right to get exclusive breastfeeding in the working area of Tanah Tinggi Public Health Center Binjai City in 2025. This research uses quantitative methods with cross-sectional approach. The population consists of 260 mothers who have babies aged 6-12 mothns, with a sample of 72 respondents. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling with a chi-test square. The results of the study showed that the variables related to mother’s behavior in fullfiment baby’s right to exclusive breastfeeding were parity (p=0,001), knowledge (p=0,001), family support (p=0,001), health workers support (p=0,009) while the unrelated variables is age (p=0,932), education (p=0,529), work (p=0,690), attitude (p=0,858), and availability of health service facilities (p=0,393). It’s expected that the Health Center can make efforts to improve the exclusive breastfeeding program that can be carried out through the Breastfeeding Mother Class program, regular counseling, and the dissemination of digital-based information regarding exclusive breastfeeding.
