dc.description.abstractBackground Forensic medical examinations are divided into two types examinations on dead victims and examinations on living victims. Forensic medical examinations on dead victims are carried out to determine what might be causing the death. has happened to the victim's body and what caused the victim's death. Meanwhile, the aim of forensic examination on living victims is to find out the clarity of the wound pattern, by knowing cause of injury, location of injury, form of injury, and qualification of injury. Method Results This study uses a descriptive research methodology with a retrospective approach. This study adopts a descriptive study method with a retrospective total sampling approach, with a research sample of Visum et Repertum of living victims with injuries due to mechanical violence from the Forensic Medicine and Medicolegal Installation of Dr. Pirngadi Regional General Hospital, Medan with inclusion and exclusion criteria. Sample This study is data from the Visum et Repertum of Mechanical Violence on living victims examined in the Forensic and Medicolegal Installation of Dr. Pirngadi Regional General Hospital, Medan. Conclusion The number of incidents of mechanical violence on living victims examin, ed in the Forensic and Medicolegal Installation of Dr. Pirngadi Regional General Hospital, Medan in 2024 was 401 cases. Based on age classification, the majority of victims were in the 26-45 year age range, namely (39.6%). Based on gender classification, the majority of victims were male, namely (53.6%). Based on the sub-district classification where incident, the majority of Percut Sei Tua sub district is located, namely (25.3%). Based on the classification of wound location, the majority of wound locations are in the upper extremity location, namely (26.8%). Based on the classification of wound types, the majority of wound types are abrasions, namely (44.5%). And based on the classification of wound degrees, the majority of wound degrees are minor wounds, namely (88.7%). From this research, it can be concluded that in 2024, the most common age classification was 26-45 years old, the most common gender was male, the sub district where the incident occurred, the most common location of injuries was the upper extremities, the most common type of injury was abrasions and the most common degree of injury was minor injuries.en_US
