dc.description.abstractThe feminist movement in Japan has become an important topic in the history of women's struggle for gender equality. The purpose of this writing is to identify the development of the feminist movement in Japan from the Tokugawa Era to the modern era and to outline its impact on gender equality. This writing is conducted using descriptive writing methods from relevant journals, books, and articles. The feminist movement in Japan has driven progress in education, voting rights, and women's access to the workforce. Although significant progress has been made, the struggle against gender stereotypes and leadership remains an issue that needs to be addressed. This writing concludes that the feminist movement in Japan plays an important role in societal change, even as the struggle for equality continues.en_US
