This study aims to determine the difference in the productivity levels of article authors in the Jurnal Teknik Kimia USU and Jurnal Dinamis using Lotka's law. This study is a quantitative study using a comparative approach. The unit of analysis in this study is all articles published in the Jurnal Teknik Kimia USU and Jurnal Dinamis between 2014-2024. The results of this study show that 1.02% of authors contributed to writing one article from the total number of authors in the Jurnal Teknik Kimia USU with an adjusted count calculation, with a complete count calculation of 55.8%, and with a straight count calculation of 72.5%. Meanwhile, in the Jurnal Dinamis, 1.79% of authors contributed to writing one article from the total number of authors, with an adjusted count of 23.64% and a straight count of 89.4%. The results of the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test using the adjusted count, complete count, and straight count approaches show that there is a significant difference between the theoretical frequency distribution of Lotka's law and the frequency distribution of authors in the Jurnal Teknik Kimia USU. Meanwhile, in the Jurnal Dinamis, the adjusted count and complete count approaches show a significant difference between the theoretical frequency distribution of Lotka's law and the frequency distribution of authors, and with the straight count approach, there is no significant difference between the theoretical value of Lotka's law and the observed value of the distribution of authors in the Jurnal Dinamis. The results of the study show that the Jurnal Dinamis with the complete count approach is the journal with the highest author productivity, while the journal with the lowest author productivity is the Jurnal Dinamis with the straight count approach. It is known that the highest contribution of articles is 24 articles by Iriany from the Jurnal Teknik Kimia USU and 77 articles by M. Sabri from the Jurnal Dinamis.
