The high unemployment rate among vocational high school (SMK) graduates causes future anxiety in students. This study examines the effect of superhero-based psychodrama intervention on SMK students' future anxiety. Using a non-randomized pretest-posttest control group design, an experiment was conducted on students of SMKN 8 Medan divided into an experimental group (n=19) and a control group (n=16). The experimental group received a four-session psychodrama intervention over one month. Future anxiety was measured using the Dark Future Scale which had been adapted by Tarigan & Hasnida (2023) and re-tested on SMK students. Statistical analysis showed no significant difference in anxiety reduction between the experimental and control groups (p=0.243). However, there was a statistically significant decrease in anxiety within the experimental group after the intervention (p=0.049). Qualitative observations showed that the greatest benefits were experienced by students who participated most actively as protagonists or main auxiliary egos. This study concludes that although the overall statistical effectiveness of the intervention was not confirmed against the control group, the intervention showed therapeutic potential that was highly dependent on active participant involvement.
