| dc.description.abstract | CV. Rosen Jaya is a manufacturing company that makes furniture items such as frames, shutters, doors, chairs and tables. This company has a common problem, namely consumer orders are not fulfilled within the specified time period. This common problem is caused by problems with the layout of the production floor, namely backtracking, cross movement, and distances between stations that are too far. This problem can be solved by using improvements to the production floor layout using the Graphic Method and the BLOCPLAN Algorithm. This research aims to design a production floor layout that can minimize total movement moments and material handling costs, with a line efficiency rate above 75%. The results of this research show a decrease in the total displacement moment on the production floor from 22,522 m/month to 9,281 m/month using the graphic method and 10,203 m/month using the BLOCPLAN algorithm. By comparing the total movement moments and Line Efficiency Rate in the actual layout, Graphic Method layout, and BLOCPLAN Algorithm layout, the layout using the Graphic Method became the selected proposed layout. The Line Efficiency Rate calculation for the selected proposed layout is 90.81%, so it can be said to be an efficient production floor layout. | en_US |
