Hubungan Karakteristik dan Motivasi dengan Kinerja Petugas Rekam Medis Elektronik di Rumah Sakit Haji Medan Tahun 2025
The Relationship of Characteristic and Motivation with the Performance of Electronic Medical Record Officer at Haji Medan Hospital in 2025
Abstract
The implementation of electronic medical records (EMR) is one of the significant innovations in the healthcare sector aimed at improving efficiency, accuracy, and security in patient data management. However, the implementation of EMR in Indonesia still faces several challenges, such as the low level of system utilization and the suboptimal performance of medical record personnel. One healthcare facility that has implemented an electronic-based medical record information system is Haji Hospital Medan. Nevertheless, in practice, there are still medical personnel who do not fully understand how to use the electronic system properly. This study is an analytical survey using a cross-sectional method. The population in this study consisted of 43 electronic medical record officers at Haji Hospital Medan. Data were obtained through interviews using questionnaires and analyzed using the Spearman correlation test. The results of the Spearman correlation test showed that the intrinsic motivation variable (p = 0.000) and the extrinsic motivation variable (p = 0.000) are related to the performance of electronic medical record officers. Meanwhile, the age variable (p = 0.230) and the length of service variable (p = 0.784) indicated no significant relationship with the performance of electronic medical record officers. Based on these findings, it is recommended that Haji Hospital Medan provide regular training related to the use of the electronic medical record system. Additionally, the hospital management is encouraged to offer rewards or incentives to staff as a form of support to enhance both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, which ultimately may have a positive impact on their performance.
