dc.description.abstractThis research examines the effect of adding TiO2-Al2O3 nanoparticles and the purification process on the breakdown voltage and leakage current of used transformer oil. The research was conducted using used mineral oils of Shell Diala B, Esso, and Gulf, tested at temperaturs ranging from 50°C to 90°C with a 10°C increment. The results showed that the addition of nanoparticles and the purification process could increase the breakdown voltage and reduce the leakage current as the temperatur rises. The highest breakdown voltage increase due to nanoparticle addition in Shell Diala B, Esso, and Gulf oils occurred in samples S6, S11, and S18, with increments of 18.7 kV, 48.6 kV, and 19.3 kV at a temperatur of 90°C. After the purification process, the breakdown voltages for samples S3, S9, and S15 increased from 30.6 kV, 34.8 kV, and 29.1 kV to 41.5 kV, 53.1 kV, and 46.6 kV at a temperatur of 90°C. The average leakage current reduction for Shell Diala B, Esso, and Gulf used mineral oils with nanoparticle addition was 15.03%, 20.8%, and 15.4%, respectively, with the highest reduction at a TiO2 25 mg + Al2O3 75 mg composition being 15.1%, 20.2%, and 32.1%. Meanwhile, the average leakage current reduction through the purification process was 11.03%, 10.7%, and 17.6%, with the highest reduction observed in sample S15 at 21.05% at a temperatur of 60°C.en_US
