Pengelolaan Asuhan Keperawatan Bencana terhadap Penanggulangan Masalah Kesehatan Pasca Banjir di Kelurahan Sei Mati Medan Maimun

Abstract

Floods are one of the natural disasters that often occur in the Sei Mati Village. Medan Maimun District, which have serious impacts on public health, such as increasing cases of diarrhea, ARI, and skin diseases. Low public knowledge about post-flood health problem management and less than optimal clean and healthy living behavior (PHBS) are the main challenges in disease prevention efforts. This study aims to improve the effectiveness of disaster nursing care management through health education for flood-affected communities. The method used is a community-based educational approach with counseling, leaflet distribution, and involvement of local health cadres, Evaluation was carried out with pre- and post-tests to measure improvements in public knowledge, attitudes, and health status. The results showed a significant increase in public understanding of post-flood disease prevention and PHBS practices. This study concludes that systematic and participatory education is effective in overcoming post-flood health problems and increasing community preparedness to face similar disasters in the future.
