Background: Sustainable national development in Indonesia includes the health sector as a fundamental component to ensure public welfare. Medicines are crucial in healthcare services, necessitating strict compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure product quality, safety, and efficacy. Pharmacists play a vital role in pharmaceutical manufacturing, especially in production, quality
assurance, and quality control processes. Objective: This Apothecary Professional Practice Program (PKPA) aims to
enhance students’ understanding of the pharmacist’s role and responsibilities in the pharmaceutical industry; equip them with practical knowledge and skills; facilitate the direct application of GMP principles; and prepare them for entering the pharmaceutical workforce professionally. Method: The PKPA was conducted in collaboration with Lafiau Roostyan
Effendie, a non-profit pharmaceutical manufacturing facility under the Indonesian Air Force Medical Corps (DISKESAU), certified in GMP. The program was held from March 3 to April 30, 2025, involving observation, participation, and mentorship in key pharmaceutical operations. Results: Through hands-on experience, students gained insight into the implementation of GMP, the workflow of pharmaceutical production, and the
specific responsibilities of pharmacists in ensuring the quality and safety of medicines. Conclusion: The PKPA at Lafiau Roostyan Effendie successfully provided pharmacy students with essential competencies and professional readiness,
reinforcing the critical role of pharmacists in pharmaceutical manufacturing and quality systems.
