This study aims to analyze the factors influencing farmers' perceptions of
rice farming insurance using a logistic regression approach. The
independent variables examined include age, education level, farming
experience, land size, and income. A quantitative research method was
employed, with data collected through questionnaires distributed to 38 rice
farmers in Sei Beras Sekata Village, Sunggal Subdistrict, Deli Serdang
Regency. The analysis results indicate that land size and income have a
significant effect on farmers' perceptions of rice farming insurance (p <
0.05), while age, education level, and years of farming experience do not
show a significant influence. The model's goodness-of-fit test using the
Omnibus Test yielded a significance value of 0.043, indicating that the
model is appropriate for use. Furthermore, the Hosmer and Lemeshow test
resulted in a significance value of 0.975, suggesting that the model fits the
data well. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that farmers'
perceptions of rice farming insurance are more strongly influenced by
economic factors, such as income and land size, rather than by individual
characteristics of the farmers.
