dc.description.abstractThis study discusses the categorization and meaning of emotive interjections in Mandailing. The main objective of this study is to describe the categorization and meaning of interjections in Mandailing using the theory of Natural Semantic Metalanguage. This study was conducted with a qualitative approach, using oral data as the main source. The matching method and the distribution method were applied in the data analysis process. The findings are presented through formal and informal presentations. The results of this study indicate that there are six categorizations and nine meanings of interjections in Mandailing.en_US
