Cesarean section (C-section) procedures often cause significant pain due to abdominal and uterine incisions. Poorly managed pain may hinder early mobilization, breastfeeding, and worsen the mother’s psychological well-being. This study aims to apply Benson relaxation technique as a non-pharmacological method to reduce post-C-section pain in the Maternity Ward of Universitas Sumatera Utara Hospital. The method used is a case study on five post-C-section mothers, with pain levels measured before and after the intervention using the
Numeric Rating Scale (NRS). The intervention involved Benson relaxation for 10–15 minutes per session, twice daily. Results showed a decrease in average pain scores from 6–7 to 3–4 after the intervention. The mothers appeared more relaxed and were able to perform light activities more comfortably. This study concludes that the Benson relaxation technique is effective in reducing acute postoperative pain in post-C-section patients. This innovation shows strong potential for broader application in nursing practice as a safe, simple, and supportive therapy that enhances the quality of holistic maternity nursing care
