Analysis of the Role of Village-Owned Enterprises to Improve Community Welfare in Muara Sub-District (Case Study: Aritonang Village and Batubinumbun Village)
Abstract
This study aims to determine how much influence Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) have on community welfare in Muara Subdistrict, as measured by indicators of income, consumption, education, and health.
The type of research used is quantitative. The population in this study were people of productive age in Aritonang Village and Batubinumbun Village, with a sample size of 162 people taken using simple random sampling technique and calculated using the Slovin formula. Research data were obtained through observation, documentation, and distributing questionnaires to respondents. The results showed that BUMDes had a positive and significant effect on increasing income, consumption, education, and community health in both villages.
However, on the health variable in Aritonang Village, there are weaknesses in the validity and reliability of the indicators. Overall, BUMDes plays an important role in improving community welfare, although its effectiveness is influenced by the factors of community participation, infrastructure quality, and internal BUMDes management.
