Asuhan Keperawatan pada Ibu Primipara Pasca Seksio Sesarea dalam Pemenuhan Kebutuhan Perawatan Diri di Rumah Sakit Prof Dr Chairuddin P Lubis

Abstract

Primiparous mothers after caesarean section have limitations in performing self-care. Self-care for mothers after caesarean section is important to prevent complications, restore or maintain the health and well-being of mothers and babies, and prepare mothers for their new roles. This study aims to describe in depth the fulfilment of self-care needs in nursing care for mothers after a caesarean section. The method used is a case study with a nursing process approach that includes assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Nursing care was provided from 14 to 18 June 2025. Nurses provided education on self-care, including personal hygiene, perineal care, breast care, nutritional needs, and rest and sleep requirements, using leaflets as a medium. The results showed that the mothers had knowledge about self-care, but the depth of their knowledge and its impact on their attitudes and actions in preventing complications, recovery, or the health and well-being of the mother and baby, as well as their readiness for their new role, were not yet measurable. The next case study is recommended for nurses to have readiness and mastery of knowledge about meeting the self-care needs required by mothers after a caesarean section.
