| dc.description.abstract | Background: The pharmaceutical industry is a business entity that has obtained
legal authorization to manufacture drugs substances. All manufactturing activities
must somply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Pharmacists play a key
role in the pharmaceutical indtsry since they are required to possess proper
qualifications, knowledges, experience, and skillls to ensure that the implemetation
of GMP is Carried out in accordance with the wtablished requirements.
Objective: The Professional Work Practice of Pharmacists (PKPA) aims to provide
pharmacy students with an understanding of the roles, functions, and responsibilites
of pharmacists in the pharmaceutical indtsry, as well as to gain practical experience
in the application of GMP in pharmaceutical manufacturing. This program also
equips students with practical skills and insights in carrying out pharmaceutical
activities in the industry, specifically at PT. Pima Medika Laboratories.
Summary: The PKPA at PT. Prim aMedika Lboratories was conducted from 05
may – 26 june 2025, with primary placement in the Quality Assurance (QA). In
addition, students were introduced to various other departements through indyction
and training sessions. Phrmacists play an essential role in ensuring the quality of
pharmaceutical preparations, from raw material to finished products. PT. Prima
medika Laboratories ha consistenly applied all aspects of GMP, including quality
management systems, personnel, facilities, equipment, sanitation and hygienen,
production, quality control, self-inspection, quality audits, documentation,
validation, and qualification.
Conclusion: After completing the PKPA at PT. Prima Medika Laboratories, it can
be concluded that pharmacists are key personnel in the phrmaceutical industry with
responsivilities in prdoduction, quality asssurance, and quality control. This
program provides pharmacy students with knowlwedge, skill, and practical
experinece regarding the implementation of GMP in the pharmaceutical indtsry. PT.
Prima Medika Laboratories has m\de onstrated consistent im plementation of GMP
in all espects to ensure that every manufactured drug is safe, effective, and of high
