Analisis Sanitasi Lingkungan pada Taman Hutan Kota Cadika di Kecamatan Medan Johor Kota Medan Tahun 2025

Abstract

Cadika Urban Forest Park is a green open space and a popular tourist attraction for the people of Medan. The sanitation conditions in the park show that there are uncovered trash bins, organic waste burning practices, and poorly maintained toilets that cause unpleasant odors. These conditions can disrupt visitor comfort and pose health risks, necessitating a comprehensive assessment of the park’s environmental sanitation conditions. This study is descriptive in nature, employing observation and interviews with sanitation staff and park supervisors. The study includes an analysis of sanitation facilities, including clean water supply, toilets, wastewater drainage systems, waste management, and sanitation infrastructure; supporting facilities, including educational resources, health facilities, and fire extinguishing equipment; and operational resources at Cadika City Forest Park. The results of the study indicate that the overall environmental sanitation conditions do not yet meet healthy standards. Environmental conditions fall into the unhygienic category. Sanitation facilities fall into the hygienic category. Supporting facilities are categorized as unfit for health. The operational human resources aspect shows that staff are available but have not received specialized training, do not work according to technical standards, and are not supervised through a structured evaluation system. Therefore, a comprehensive improvement in facility quality, enhanced staff capacity through training, and the implementation of a structured supervision system are necessary to optimally improve the environmental sanitation quality of the park.
