Analysis of Indonesian Palm Oil (CPO) Export Performance in the International Market
Abstract
Palm oil (CPO) is one of Indonesia's leading commodities that has an important
role in supporting national economic growth through its contribution to the
country's foreign exchange, especially in international trade. As the world's leading
exporter of CPO, Indonesia faces various challenges in maintaining and improving
its performance in the international market, such as global price fluctuations,
competition between producing countries, and trade regulations from export
destination countries. This study aims to analyze the comparative and competitive
advantages and export performance of Indonesian palm oil (CPO) in the
international market. The analysis model used is the Revealed Comparative
Advantage (RCA) to measure comparative advantage, the Export Competitiveness
Index (ECI) to measure competitive advantage and the Trade Specialization Index
(ISP) to measure the performance of Indonesia's palm oil (CPO) exports in the
international market. The data used is secondary data in the form of data from the
2001-2022 time period. The results of the study show that the comparative
advantage, competitiveness and export performance of palm oil (CPO) in the
international market in 2001-2022 has a high value and specialization index.
