    Abstract
Digital media has become an integral part of adolescents' lives today, serving not only as a means of communication but also as a source of information. Adolescents are highly susceptible to influence from their social environment, such as peers, and exposure to information and visualizations of idealized body shapes in digital media. This significantly affects adolescents' (especially female adolescents') body image, leading to body dissatisfaction and a tendency to engage in risky dieting behavior. Based on this premise, this study aimed to analyze the influence of digital media exposure, peer, and body image on risky dieting behavior among female adolescents in high schools in Medan City. This study employed a quantitative approach with a case-control design. The sample consisted of 124 female adolescents, equally divided into 62 cases (female adolescents engaged in risky dieting behavior) and 62 controls (female adolescents not engaged in dieting). Data analysis was conducted in three stages: univariate analysis to describe variable distribution, bivariate analysis using the Chi-square test and Odds Ratio (OR), and multivariate analysis using multiple logistic regression. The results showed a significant influence between digital media exposure and body image on risky dieting behavior (p<0.001). The risk of engaging in risky dieting behavior was 8.1 times higher in adolescent girls with high digital media exposure compared to those with low exposure (OR = 8.095; 95% CI: 3.318–19.747). Furthermore, the risk of risky dieting behavior was 6.4 times higher in adolescent girls with negative body image compared to those with positive body image (OR = 6.369; 95% CI: 2.615–15.515). Peer influence did not show a significant effect (p = 0.477). It can be concluded that high digital media exposure and negative body image significantly increase the risk of female adolescents engaging in risky dieting behavior. This study emphasizes the importance of digital literacy and the development of a positive body image in female adolescents as part of a promotional and preventive strategy to avert risky dieting behaviors
