Analisis Komparasi Pendapatan Usahatani Cabai Merah Menggunakan Bibit Unggul & Bibit Tidak Unggul (Studi Kasus Desa Ujung Teran, Kecamatan Merdeka, Kabupaten Karo)

Abstract

Indonesia as an agrarian country has great potential in the development of the horticultural sector, one of which is the red chili commodity (Capsicum sp.) which has high economic value and increasing market demand. This high demand encourages farmers to increase production, among other things through the use of superior seeds. This research was carried out in Ujung Teran Village, Merdeka District, Karo Regency, North Sumatra Province, which is known as one of the red chili production centers. This study aims to analyze the comparison of production costs, revenue comparisons, income comparisons, feasibility levels, and comparisons of the feasibility of red chili farming using superior seeds and non-superior seeds in Ujung Teran Village, Merdeka District, Karo Regency. The analysis model used was the Mann Whitney non-parametric test to analyze the comparison of production costs, revenue, income, and farming feasibility, and the R/C Ratio to measure the feasibility of red chili farming using superior seeds and insuperior seeds. The results of the study showed that there was a significant difference in the income and income of red chili farming using superior seeds and inferior seeds, then there was no significant difference in the production cost and feasibility of red chili farming using superior seeds and inferior seeds, and both farms were suitable for cultivation.
