This study discusses community standardization efforts to preserve the symbolic meaning and philosophy of the Si 8 Jabu traditional house in the Lingga cultural village, Karo Regency. The Si 8 Jabu traditional house is not only a traditional architectural heritage but also embodies the cultural values, social systems, and philosophies of the Karo people. Over time, there has been a shift in understanding of the symbolic meaning of this traditional house, necessitating standardization efforts to maintain the authenticity of its cultural values. This study used a qualitative approach using ethnographic study methods, field observations, and in-depth interviews with traditional leaders, local residents, and relevant parties. The results indicate that the Lingga community has implemented various forms of standardization, such as preserving original architecture, strengthening cultural narratives through local education, and developing interpretive guidelines for traditional symbols. These efforts not only aim to maintain cultural identity but also serve as a form of adaptation to the challenges of modernization and tourism. This research emphasizes the importance of the community's active role in maintaining the continuity of local values through collective cultural standardization mechanisms.
