Help-Seeking Behavior in Students Who Have Experienced Violence in Dating
Abstract
Dating violence is an issue that has recently emerged. The violence that often occurs in relationships can take the form of physical, verbal, and emotional abuse. When violence occurs, help seeking behavior is necessary to assist victims experiencing dating violence. Help Seeking Behavior is one form of coping by connecting with others. This study aims to examine the description of help seeking behavior among students who have experienced dating violence. The research method used in this study is the Indigenous Psychology approach. The sample size for this study consisted of 57 participants. The results show that participants seek help through storytelling with friends and breaking off relationships. These findings can serve as a reference for preventing dating violence.
