Perencanaan Studi Kasus Atraksi dan Amenities Produk Wisata Berbasis Guest Activities di Taman Simalem Resort

Abstract

Modern tourism no longer focuses solely on natural beauty, but also on the quality of direct experiences offered to visitors. Taman Simalem Resort, located in North Sumatra, is a tourism destination that emphasizes guest-centered experiences by integrating attractions and amenities such as jungle trekking, resort discovery tours, and educational activities. This study explores two main questions: (1) What is the potential of guest activities at Taman Simalem Resort? and (2) How are attractions and supporting amenities planned to enhance those activities? The research aims to identify the types of attractions and amenities available and to analyze their contribution to improving the overall tourist experience. A qualitative case study approach was used, with data collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and literature review. Findings indicate that guest activity-based attractions and facilities have a significant positive impact on visitor satisfaction. The resort’s planning strategy has been effective but still presents opportunities for future development, such as the addition of new attractions and wellness facilities. In conclusion, the management of attractions and amenities at Taman Simalem Resort reflects a clear and relevant direction toward creating interactive, engaging, and meaningful tourism experiences aligned with current visitor expectations.
