    Abstract
The high number of respiratory complaints in Bagan Deli Village is thought to be closely related to air pollution caused by PM2.5 emissions from industrial activities and transportation in Bagan Deli Village, which causes heavy vehicle traffic that can produce PM2.5. This study aims to analyze the concentration of Particulate Matter (PM2.5) and Respiratory Complaints among the community in Bagan Deli Village. This study used descriptive quantitative methods with primary data collection through questionnaires administered to 100 residents out of a total population of 2,954 people. PM2.5 measurements were taken using a Dustrak Aerosol Monitor TSI Model 8532 at five points on Jalan Raya Pelabuhan. The results of the study indicate that the concentration of PM2.5 at the study site exceeds the ambient air quality threshold set by the government, and 63% of respondents experience respiratory complaints such as sneezing, nasal congestion, itchy nose, runny nose, difficulty swallowing, itchy throat, coughing, shortness of breath, and chest pain. PM2.5 measurements inside homes also showed that 63% of homes exceeded the quality standards set by the Ministry of Health, and there was a correlation between PM2.5 concentrations inside homes and respiratory complaints with a p-value of 0.023. The conclusion of this study is that there is a significant association between indoor PM2.5 concentrations and respiratory complaints. Therefore, it is recommended that the public increase awareness of the importance of indoor air quality and a healthy environment, and that local governments conduct monitoring and control of air pollution in residential areas
