Abstract

University of Sumatera Utara In the context of building facilities and improving infrastructure, trying to provide full freedom and support by providing a student buildings as a place to organize and associate for USU students. The design of the student buildings at the University of North Sumatra has an important role in accommodating the activities of USU student organizations, which currently do not have student center building facilities. Many USU organizations such as the USU Student Government (PEMA USU), the USU Student Activity Unit (UKM USU) and the USU Regional Student Organization (ORMADA USU) still have problems with the lack of availability of secretariat space and training and meeting facilities to support their activities. The aim of this research is to design a student building at the University of North Sumatra by implementing the Green Building architectural system and an contemporary architectural approach so that it can provide optimal functional value, high aesthetics, and supports environmental aspects.
