Prarancangan Pabrik Pembuatan Biofuel dari Refined Bleached Deodorized Palm Stearin (RBDPS) Melalui Proses Perengkahan Katalitik dengan Katalis ZSM-5 Kapasitas 100.000 Ton/Tahun
Preliminary Design for the Production of Biofuel from Refined Bleached Deodorized Palm Stearin (RBDPS) Using Catalitic Cracking Process With ZSM-5 Catalyst Capacity 100.000 Tons/Year
Abstract
Biofuel is an organic fuel obtained by cracking organic raw materials to break long
carbon chains into shorter ones with or without the help of a catalyst. The main
objective in designing this factory is to implement chemical engineering disciplines
and to provide initial information in designing a factory for making biofuel from
RBDPS by catalytic cracking with a capacity of 100,000 tons/year. The main
process in the pre-planning factory consists of three stages, namely the raw
material preparation stage, the product formation stage and the product
purification stage. The biofuel manufacturing factory from RBDPS is planned to be
installed in the Sei Mangkei Special Economic Zone, Simalungun Regency, North
Sumatra Province with a land area of 16,000 m2, the workforce required is 200
people in the form of a Limited Liability Company (PT) business entity led by a
director with a line and staff organization system. To establish and operate the
factory requires investment capital of IDR 1,444,509,559,044 and production costs
of IDR 1,052,233,758,577. Based on the feasibility analysis, this factory has a BEP
of 21.935%, ROI of 22.15%, POT of 4.30 years, RON of 36.93%, and IRR of
25.82%. From the results of the economic analysis, it can be concluded that the
pre-planned factory for making biofuel from RBDPS via catalytic cracking with a
ZSM catalyst is feasible.
