Karakterisasi Habitat Kantung Semar Sayap Alur (Nepenthes sumatrana) Endemik Sumatera di Hutan Muara Talam Pulau Mursala
Habitat Characterization of the Alur-Winged Pitcher Plant (Nepenthes sumatrana) Endemic to Sumatera in the Muara Talam Forest of Mursala Island
Abstract
Nepenthes sumatrana was last assessed on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species in 2013, with a conservation status of Critically endangered (CR). One example of an endemic plant in Sumatera is Nepenthes sumatrana. This study aims to identify the habitat characteristic of Nepenthes sumatrana and to identify threats to the existence of Nepenthes sumatrana in the Muara Talam Forest of Mursala Island. The method for determining the research location was carried out using a purposive method, namely selecting research locations based on threatened species criteria, which was carried out in the Muara Talan Forest route. A random plot approachwas used to select the location for making pplots. Thes plots measured 5 meters x 5 meters for each observation unit and 10 observation plots were obtained based on thes result of observations that had been carried out. This study has inventoried 59 plant species with a total of 778 individuals. The highest Importance Value Index at the seedling level is Dicranopteris linearis (58.086%), Shorea ovata seedling level (47.723%), Shorea acuminata sapling level (36.805%). Description of the Physical Habitat of Nepenthes sumatrana in Muara Talam with an average temperature of 25.5 °C, altitude of 191,44 meters above sea level. Threats faced of Nepenthes sumatrana in the Muara Talam Forest is human activities such as illegal logging, conservation of forest land into oil palm plantations, coconut, conservation of forest land into patchouli and cassava agricultural land.
