The Impact of the Operation of Toll Roads on Lemang Business Income (Case Study: Rambutan District, Tebing Tinggi City)
Abstract
Lemang is a traditional specialty food that is famous in Indonesia made from
glutinous rice. Lemang is processed using a mixture of coconut milk using bamboo
containers. Lemang traders are found in Tebing Tinggi City, especially in
Rambutan District. The construction of the Trans Sumatra Toll Road has an impact
on lemang producers in Tebing Tinggi City. This study aims to analyze the impact
of toll road operations on lemang business income in Rambutan District, Tebing
Tinggi City. Determining the subject of the study using the census method
(saturated sampling) of the population used, namely lemang entrepreneurs in
Tebing Tinggi City with a sample, namely all lemang entrepreneurs in Rambutan
District as many as 6 samples. In analyzing the data, the researcher used the
Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test analysis method. The results of the study show that the
operation of toll roads has a real and significant negative impact. The average
lemang business income in Rambutan District before the operation of the Trans
Sumatra toll road was Rp 44,092,660/month and after the operation of the Trans
Sumatra toll road became Rp 19,420,160/month.
