Pengaruh Iklim Sekolah dan Agresivitas Terhadap Kecenderungan Perilaku Bullying pada Siswa Sekolah Menengah Atas di Kota Medan
The Effect of School Climate and Aggressiveness on the Tendency of Bullying Behavior Among Senior High School Students in Medan City
Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of school climate and aggressiveness on
the tendency of bullying behavior in high school students in Medan City. The
approach used is quantitative by involving 350 students aged 15-18 years as the
research sample. Data collection was conducted using a Likert scale with five
alternative answers. The school climate measurement instrument was prepared
based on Gage and Larson's theory (2014) consisting of 13 items adapted from
Harahap (2025), aggressiveness based on Buss and Perry's theory (1992)
consisting of 26 items adapted from Rahmadini (2020), and bullying based on
Olweus' theory (1993) consisting of 23 items adapted from Nadhifa (2018). Data
analysis used simple and multiple linear regression. The results of the analysis
showed that school climate had a significant negative effect on the tendency of
bullying behavior (β = -0.094, t = -2.230, p = 0.026), and aggressiveness had a
significant positive effect on bullying behavior (β = 0.125, t = 3.198 p = 0.002).
Simultaneously, school climate and aggressiveness have a significant effect on
bullying behavior (F = 9.644 p < 0.001) with a contribution of R² = 0.229
