Penggunaan Berbagai Jenis Pupuk Kandang Terhadap Pertumbuhan Bibit Rhizophora stylosa

Abstract

Mangrove forests have an important role in maintaining coastal ecosystems, but their existence continues to be threatened by land use change and human activities. This study aims to evaluate the effect of applying various types of fertilizers on the growth of Rhizophora stylosa seedlings in Dusun II, Pulau Sembilan Village, Pangkalan Susu District, Langkat Regency, North Sumatra. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) method with five treatments, namely control (no fertilizer), goat manure, quail manure, chicken manure, and cow manure, each with five replications. Parameters observed included seedling height, stem diameter, number of leaves, wet weight, dry weight, and leaf area. The results showed that cow manure treatment gave the best results in all parameters with an average seedling height of 43.44 cm, stem diameter of 1.61 mm, number of leaves 5.54, stem and leaf wet weight of 39.20 g, stem and leaf dry weight of 13.24 g, and leaf area of 22.37 cm². Quail fertilizer produced the lowest growth in the parameters of height, number of leaves, lower wet weight, and leaf area. These results indicate that cow manure at a dose of 200 g is effective in increasing the growth of R. stylosa seedlings.
