Designing an IoT-Based Automatic Pest Repellent Device with Esp8266 and Solar Panel
Abstract
Pest infestation is one of the main factors causing a decline in crop yields in the
agricultural sector. Manual handling and the use of excess chemicals are often
ineffective and risky to the environment. This research aims to design an automatic
pest repellent based on the Internet of Things (IoT) using an ESP8266
microcontroller and a solar panel power source. ultrasonic sensor as a repellent,
and Blynk application for real-time activity monitoring. The system's energy is
supplied through solar panels connected to lithium batteries, allowing the device
to work independently without PLN electricity. The test results show that the device
is able to detect and respond to the presence of pests quickly and accurately, as
well as communicate the status of the system to the user through the application.
The implementation of this tool is expected to increase the efficiency of pest control
on agricultural land, while supporting the use of renewable energy and IoT
technology to realize smart agriculture
