dc.description.abstract | This study examines the phenomenon of social and economic inequality in Pulonas
Village, Babussalam District, Southeast Aceh Regency. It is clear that many influencing
factors contribute to the widening of social and economic inequality, including income
differences between the rich and poor, and education, which is often a contributing factor.
Furthermore, the social inequality phenomenon has reached the level of criminalization
due to poverty, which drives people to engage in these activities. In times of social
inequality, the government must care for them and ensure equal distribution of education.
This will eliminate social and economic inequality in the community. Therefore, it is
important to immediately improve all facilities and needs to minimize the inequality
within the community. This study employed a qualitative research approach with the
necessary analysis to determine the level of social inequality. The results indicate that
socioeconomic inequality is very serious if it continues to occur in society. This study
examines the phenomenon of social and economic inequality in Pulonas Village,
Babussalam District, Southeast Aceh Regency. This inequality is clearly evident from
various influencing factors, such as the income gap between the rich and poor, and
education, which is often a driving factor. This phenomenon has even reached the level of
criminalization, where poverty drives people to commit deviant acts to survive. This study
used a qualitative study with an analytical approach to understand the level of social
inequality that occurs. The results show that social and economic inequality has a
significant impact if it continues in society. To address this problem, the government is
expected to be more concerned and implement equal education and improve facilities and
basic community needs to minimize inequality. Social and economic inequality can have
significant impacts, including opportunities for inequality, increased crime, and social
