Pengaruh Peran Penyuluh Perkebunan Terhadap Produktivitas dan Pendapatan Usaha Perkebunan Kelapa Sawit Rakyat (Kasus : Desa Sei Torop, Kecamatan Bosar Maligas, Kabupaten Simalungun, Sumatera Utara)

Abstract

The research was conducted in Desa Sei Torop, one of the smallholder oil palm plantations center in Kecamatan Bosar Maligas, Kabupaten Simalungun, Provinsi Sumatera Utara. The research area was selected purposively. The total population of smallholder oil palm farmers under the guidance of the cooperative in Sei Torop Village consists of 30 farmers. The researcher employed the census method for sampling, which involves including all members of the population under the cooperative's guidance as the sample. Data analysis was conducted descriptively and quantitatively. The research findings indicate that the role of agricultural extension workers as communicators has a significant influence on productivity and income, whereas their roles as facilitators, motivators, and educators do not have a significant influence on the productivity and income of smallholder oil palm plantation businesses. To enhance the productivity and income of smallholder oil palm plantation businesses in the future, plantation extension workers must continuously strengthen their capacity in their role as communicators and, at the same time, as companions to farmers in implementing sustainable oil palm cultivation.
