Pengaruh Pemberian Tiga Jenis Pupuk Organik Cair dan Perempelan Tunas Air terhadap Pertumbuhan dan Produksi Cabai Merah Keriting (Capsicum annuum L.)
The Effect of the Application of Three Types of Liquid Organic Fertilizers and Air Shoot Trimming on the Growth and Yield of Curly Red Chili (Capsicum annuum L.)
Abstract
This study aimed to examine the effect of three types of liquid organic fertilizer and Trimming on growth and production of curly red chili (Capsicum annuum L.). The research was conducted at Jl. Purwosari Gg. Kenari, Pulo Brayan Bengkel, East Medan District, Medan City, North Sumatra from January to June 2025. This study used a Randomized Block Design with 2 treatment factors and 3 replications. The first factor was liquid organic fertilizer treatment
consisting of 4 treatments: without LOF (C0), LOF MYPOT (C1), LOF Amino Acid (C2), and LOF Animal Urine (C3). The second factor was Trimming treatment consisting of 2 treatments: without trimming (P0) and trimming (P1). The observed parameters included plant height, stem diameter, flowering age, harvest age, fruit length, fruit diameter, number of fruits per plant, fruit weight per plant, weight per fruit, and number of productive branches. The results showed that liquid organic fertilizer treatment significantly affected stem diameter at 3 weeks after planting, number of fruits per plant, and fruit weight per plant of curly red chili. Trimming significantly affected plant height at 5-10 weeks after planting, flowering age, harvest age, fruit length, number and weight of fruits per plant, weight per fruit, and number of productive branches. The interaction of both treatments significantly affected stem diameter at 3 weeks after planting. It is recommended to use Animal Urine LOF combined with trimming techniques to obtain optimal results in curly red chili cultivation.
