Management of Nursing Care and Services for Clients with Cardiovascular Disorders : Hypertension Through Healthy Lifestyle Education in Bandar Khalifah Village
Abstract
Hypertension, or high blood pressure, is a cardiovascular disease and one of the leading causes of death in indonesia. Accroding to the World Healthy Organization (WHO), in 2018, one bilion people worldwide suffered from hypertension, with an estimed 7.5 milion deaths or 12.8% of total global deaths attributed to it. One proven effective non-pharmacological treatment for lowering blood pressure is healthy lifestyle modification. The aim of this senior practicum was to provide nursing care in the form of health education on lifestyle changes to clients with hypertension. The activity was carried out in Dusun XII, Bandar Khalifah Village, Percut Sei Tuan District, Gg. M. Yasin, involving three clients as respondents. The result showed a reduction in blood pressure in all three clients after receiving education over two consecutive days. Clients after receiving education over two consecutive days. Clients 1 experienced a decrease from 150/80 mmHg to 140/90 mmHg, client 2 from 160/90 mmHg to 150/85 mmHg, and clients 3 from 150/95 mmHg to 140/80 mmHg. In addition, all three clients showed improved understanding and began implementing health lifestyle changes, particularly in terms of adopating healthier eating habits. it can be concluded that education on healthy lifestyle changes is effective in helping clients control blood pressure and prevent further complications from hypertension.
