The toddler period is considered a golden phase of growth and development that cannot be repeated, thus making regular monitoring through posyandu (Integrated Health Post) essential. However, the rate of repeat visits by mothers with toddlers to posyandu remains low, which may adversely affect the quality of child growth and development. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between maternal characteristics (age, education, occupation, knowledge) and the role of health cadres with repeat visits to posyandu in Bela Rakyat Village, Langkat Regency. A quantitative method with a cross-sectional study design was employed. The research was conducted in several seven posyandu within Bela Rakyat Village, Langkat Regency, from May to June 2025. The study population consisted of 105 mothers who had visited posyandu for the first time. Using Slovin’s formula, a total sample of 76 respondents was obtained through simple random sampling. Data collection was carried out using a validated questionnaire. Data analysis was conducted using the chi-square test at a 95 percent confidence level (p ≤ 0.05). The results showed that the majority of mothers were aged 20–35 years (61.8%), had a low educational background (84.2%), and were unemployed (60.5%). A total of 57,9 percent of the mothers demonstrated good knowledge regarding posyandu. Statistical analysis revealed significant associations between repeat visits and maternal age (p=0.032), education (p=0.014), occupation (p=0.017), knowledge (p=0.004), and the role of health cadres (p=0.022). It is concluded that maternal characteristics and the role of health cadres significantly influence repeat visits to posyandu. It is recommended that posyandu personnel and cadres enhance education and interpersonal communication, particularly for working mothers and those with lower educational attainment. Home visits and regular counseling sessions are suggested as effective strategies to increase maternal awareness and participation in child growth monitoring through posyandu.en_US
