Analisis Kontribusi Sektor Pertanian terhadap Pertumbuhan Ekonomi di Kabupaten Langkat melalui PDRB Periode 2019-2023

Abstract

This study aims to: 1) Determine whether the agricultural sector in Langkat Regency is a basic sector; 2) Analyze the contribution of the agricultural sector to economic growth through the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) of Langkat Regency during the 2019–2023 period; and 3) Identify the factors influencing the contribution of the agricultural sector to economic growth through GRDP in Langkat Regency throughout the study period. This research employs Location Quotient (LQ) analysis and linear regression analysis. The results show that: 1) The agricultural sector in Langkat Regency is a basic sector, with an average LQ value of 1.7516 during 2019–2023 (LQ > 1); 2) The regression analysis indicates a significant influence of the agricultural sector on economic growth, where the regression coefficient of 1.832 suggests that an increase of IDR 1 trillion in the agricultural sector will result in an increase of IDR 1.832 trillion in economic growth, assuming other variables remain constant; and 3) Partially, the agricultural sector has a positive and significant effect on economic growth in Langkat Regency. Based on the coefficient of determination analysis, the agricultural sector influences economic growth in Langkat Regency by 97.8% during the 2019–2023 period, with an average annual contribution of 19.56%. The remaining 2.2% is attributed to other variables not included in this study.
