This study aims to analyze the effect of the tourism sector on economic growth in Sumatra during the period 2015–2024. The independent variables used include tourist arrivals, hotel occupancy rates, tourism sector revenue, and average length of stay of hotel guests, with economic growth (GRDP) as the dependent variable. This study uses a quantitative method with a panel data regression approach in ten provinces on the island of Sumatra. The results show that, partially, Tourist Visits have a positive but insignificant effect on economic growth, while Hotel Occupancy Rate has a positive and significant effect. Tourism Sector Revenue has a positive but insignificant effect, indicating that its contribution to GRDP is still limited. Meanwhile, the Average Length of Stay of Hotel Guests has a negative and significant effect on economic growth, indicating that an increase in the length of stay has not been able to provide an optimal economic impact. Simultaneously, the four variables have a significant effect on economic growth on the island of Sumatra. These results confirm that the tourism sector as a whole plays an important role in driving regional economic growth, even though not all indicators show a positive effect in part.en_US
