    Abstract
This research aims to identify the trends of research topics in the literature of library and information science through a co-word approach. The type of research used was descriptive research with a quantitative approach. The data were obtained from 324 documents published in the Journal of Librarianship and Information Science during the 2018–2022 period, managed by Sage Publications. The data collection technique in this research was the documentation method by collecting the journal data through the Scopus website, which is a trusted scientific database. The data analysis technique was carried out by extracting and processing the frequency and the relationships among the terms that appeared in the article keywords using the Biblioshiny application. The results of the research showed that public libraries with 35 occurrences, academic libraries with 29 occurrences, and information literacy with 25 occurrences were the three dominant topics that became the focus of attention in the literature of the Journal of Librarianship and Information Science during the period. Based on the mapping results using the Biblioshiny application, eight clusters were successfully identified according to the Library of Congress Classification, namely: (1) Public Libraries; (2) Academic Libraries; (3) Information Literacy; (4) Bibliometrics; (5) Library and Information Science; (6) Social Media; (7) School Librarians; and (8) University Libraries. The density visualization displayed academic libraries, information literacy, and public libraries. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the trends of research topics in the field of library and information science in the journal during the 2018–2022 period are public libraries, academic libraries, and information literacy. These findings provide a comprehensive overview of the trends of research topics in the field of library and information science and can serve as a basis for further research and strategic policy-making in the related field.
