Pengaruh Pemberian Pupuk Organik Cair Limbah Ikan Tongkol dan Pemangkasan Pucuk terhadap Pertumbuhan dan Hasil Cabai Merah Keriting (Capsicum annuum L.)
Effect of Liquid Organic Fertilizer of Fish Cob Waste and Pruning Shoots on Growth and Yield of Curly Red Chili (Capsicum annuum L.)
Abstract
Curly red chili (Capsicum annuum L.) are one of the horticultural crops with relatively high economic value. Efforts to increase curly red chili pepper production can be done by improving cultivation techniques, one of which is through fertilization and pruning. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of liquid organic fertilizer of fihs cob waste and pruning shoot on the growth and yield of curly red chili. The study was conducted at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra, at an altitude of ±25 meters above sea level (masl) from January to June 2025. This study used a factorial randomized block design consisting of two treatment factors with three replicates. The first factor was the concentration of liquid organic fertilizer of fish cob waste: 15%, 20%, 25%, 30%, and 35%. The second factor was shoot pruning: no pruning (P0) and shoot pruning (P1). The results of the study show that 35% fish cob waste produces taller plants, larger stem diameters, faster flowering, faster harvest times, more productive branches, heavier fruit weight per plant, and more fruit per plant. Pruning the shoots resulted in more productive branches, heavier fruit weight per plant, and more fruit per plant compared to without pruning. The interaction between LOF fish cob waste and shoot pruning had no significant effect on all observation parameters.
