YUFANI DEBORA TELAUMBANUA. The effect of coconut water concentration and IAA on orchid plantlet growth Dendrobium sp by Vitro, guided by DIANA SOFIA HANAFIAH.
This study aims to obtain the concentration of coconut water and IAA for the growth of orchid plantlets Dendrobium sp by Vitro. This research was conducted at the Tissue Culture Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra, Medan, North Sumatra, Indonesia, from February to June 2025. This study used a complete random design with two factors, namely: coconut water concentration consisted of four levels, K0: 0 ml/L; K1: 5 ml/L; K2: 10 ml/L; K3: 15 ml/L and IAA concentration consists of four levels, I0: 0 ppm; I1: 1 ppm; I2: 1.5 ppm; I3: 2 ppm. The results showed that a concentration of 10 ml/L of coconut water indicated the best concentration for the number of leaves. IAA at a concentration of 2 ppm indicates the best concentration for the number of shoots, the number of roots and the height of the plantlet. Coconut water interaction with the best IAA at K0I2 (no coconut water and 1.5 ppm IAA) gave a high increase in orchid plantlets Dendrobium Sp.
