The scarcity and fluctuating prices of conventional feed have led to the search for sustainable alternative protein sources for livestock. Black Soldier Fly (BSF) maggots (Hermetia illucens) have emerged as a potential candidate. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of different drying temperatures on the nutritional content of BSF maggots cultured on broiler chicken manure. This experimental study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with three drying temperature treatments (P1: 60°C, P2: 70°C, and P3: 80°C), each replicated 5 times for 24 hours. The parameters measured included crude protein content, moisture content, ash content, crude fiber, and crude fat.The results showed that drying temperature significantly affected the nutritional content of the maggots. Increasing the drying temperature reduced the moisture content (from 11.24% at 60°C to 2.34% at 80°C) but substantially increased the crude fat content (from 22.35% at 60°C to 38.07% at 80°C). In contrast, the crude protein content tended to decrease with the increase in temperature (from 34.73% at 60°C to 29.65% at 80°C). In conclusion, the best drying temperature for producing high-quality maggot meal is 60°C, as this temperature yielded the highest protein content and optimal moisture level.en_US
