Abstract
MARDIANA WARASI. Financial Feasibility Analysis of Sheep Fattening
Business (Case Study at PT. Sugiono Padepokan Ternak, Dolok Masihul District,
Serdang Bedagai Regency) (Supervised by R. EDHY MIRWANDHONO).
PT. Sugiono Padepokan Ternak is a livestock business engaged in sheep
fattening. This study aims to determine the financial feasibility of the sheep
fattening business at PT. Sugiono Padepokan Ternak, Dolok Masihul District,
Serdang Bedagai Regency. Data were collected through observation, interviews,
and documentation, and analyzed using a case study method with a quantitative
descriptive approach. The indicators used include Revenue Cost Ratio (R/C), Net
Benefit Cost Ratio (Net B/C), Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return
(IRR), Break Even Point (BEP), and Payback Period (PP). The results show that
this business has an R/C value of 1.08; a Net B/C of 3.96; an NPV of IDR
880,204,286; an IRR of 25.57%; a BEP unit of 1,598 heads; a BEP price of IDR
1,388,026; and a Payback Period of 1 year and 6.5 months, indicating that the
business is financially feasible. However, sensitivity analysis reveals that the
business is quite sensitive to a 3% increase in feeder and feed costs, as well as a
2% decrease in sheep selling prices, which result in reduced financial performance
and potential feasibility risks. Therefore, cost management, price improvement, and
the development of derivative products such as fertilizer from sheep manure are
strongly recommended to maintain business sustainability. This study recommends
sustainable development of PT. Sugiono’s sheep fattening business with effective
risk management and cost efficiency strategies.
