    Abstract
    ADE DWIYANDI UTAMA. The Effect of Local Microorganisms (MOL) in Bamboo Shoots on the Productivity of Setaria Grass (Setaria sphacelata). (Supervised by NEVY DIANA HANAFI and USWATUN HASANAH). Setaria sphacelata is one of the superior grasses that has a fairly high nutritional content. One effort to increase the productivity of Setaria sphacelata is through fertilization using local microorganisms (MOL) made from bamboo shoots. This research was conducted from November 2024 to February 2025 at the Greenhouse and Field Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara. This study used a non-factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments with doses of administration, namely (P0 = 0%, P1 = 10%, P2 = 20%, P3 = 15%, and P4 = 20%) with 4 replications. each treatment and replication contained 5 polybags each. The parameters of this study consisted of fresh weight production, dry weight production, plant height and number of leaves. The results showed that the application of bamboo shoot MOL had a significant effect (P <0.05) on the production of the number of leaves of Setaria sphacelata grass. The use of bamboo shoot MOL had a very significant effect (P <0.01) on the fresh weight production and dry weight production of Setaria sphacelata, but had no significant effect (P>0.05) on the height of Setaria sphacelata grass plants. The use of bamboo shoot MOL was able to increase the productivity of fresh weight, dry weight and number of leaves, but was not able to increase the height of Setaria sphacelata grass plants. The best results were obtained at P4 with a dose of 20%.
