Uji Kinerja Generator Berbahan Bakar Biogas dengan Penambahan FABA (Fly Ash Bottom Ash)
Performance Test of a Biogas-Fueled Generator with the Addition of FABA (Fly Ash Bottom Ash)
Abstract
One of the countries with a large population is Indonesia. The demand for
energy, especially fuel, continues to increase in line with the growing population.
So far, energy use still depends on fossil sources, whose availability is increasingly
depleting. Therefore, the development of alternative fuel sources as substitutes for
fossil fuels has become very important. Currently, the use of renewable energy is
continuously developing, one of which is through biogas derived from animal
manure. The development of new and renewable energy is carried out by converting
biomass. Biogas is one of the technologies resulting from biomass conversion—gas
that is produced through fermentation or anaerobic activity of organic materials.
The anaerobic fermentation process of organic materials such as cow manure and
rice straw with Carbon/Nitrogen (C/N) ratio values of 26, 28, and 30, calculated
using the Goal Seek feature in Microsoft Excel, is the method used in this study. The
results showed that cow manure and rice straw fermented for 21 days at an average
temperature of 33.63˚C, an average pH value of 6.93, produced an average
electrical power of 217 Watts, and the best generator rotation speed reached 280.8
rpm.
