Modifikasi Mata Pisau pada Alat Pengolahan Sawit (Elaeis guineensis) Menjadi CPO
Modification of Blades on Palm Oil (Elaeis guineensis) Processing Tool to Become CPO
Abstract
Palm oil processing equipment into CPO was a tool used to chop palm loose fruits using a blade. However, this tool was devoted to farm businesses because production was still on a small scale. This tool used a blade as a palm fruit chopper which was driven by a motor. To speed up the chopping process, a modification was made to the blade by sharpening one side of the blade. The purpose of this research was to modify the blade on the palm oil processing tool into CPO in order to accelerate the process of chopping palm loose fruits and increase CPO productivity. The results of this research showed that the effective capacity of the palm oil processing tool was 209.30 kg / hour, an increase in the value of the effective capacity of the tool by 64,28% from before modification. For the average yield produced as much as 23%. The yield had increased by 6.78%. Fuel consumption used during processing was 1.67 L/hour. Fuel consumption decreased by 34.89%. For economic analysis, there was a Break Even Point (BEP) value of Rp18,031.01 kg/year. The value of Net Present Value (NPV) with an interest rate of 6% amounted to Rp11,834,276/year and an interest rate of 20% amounted to -Rp3,018,987.45/year. The value of the Internal Rate of Return (IRR) was 17.15%.
