Pemetaan Potensi Budidaya Perikanan di Wilayah Pesisir Pantai Sei Tuan Indah Desa Sei Tuan Kecamatan Pantai Labu Kabupaten Deli Serdang Provinsi Sumatera Utara
Mapping of Fisheries Cultivation Potential in the Coastal Area of Sei Tuan Indah Beach, Sei Tuan Village, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra Province
Abstract
This study aims to map the potential of aquaculture development in the coastal area of Pantai Sei Tuan Indah, Sei Tuan Village, Pantai Labu District, Deli Serdang Regency using a spatial approach based on Geographic Information Systems (GIS). The method employed is spatial overlay analysis using ArcGIS 10.8 and Google Earth, combined with a quantitative descriptive approach involving scoring and weighting of land suitability matrices. The parameters analyzed include slope, soil type, hydrology, distance to the coast and rivers, land use, livelihoods, accessibility, and government policy. The results indicate that most of the area is categorized as Highly Suitable (S1) for aquaculture development, supported by flat slope (0.2%), dominant Entisol soil type, easy access, and ideal distance from water sources. The area is also designated as a fisheries and aquaculture zone in accordance with the Deli Serdang spatial plan (RTRW). GIS proves to be effective in objectively assessing and mapping land suitability, thus serving as a reliable basis for planning efficient, legal, and sustainable aquaculture development by local government, business actors, and the community.
