Job stress is a serious problem in the work environment that can affect employee productivity and health. This study aims to analyze the factors that influence job stress in maintenance mechanic workers at PT. Berkah Industri Mesin Angkat (BIMA) operating in Belawan Port. This study uses a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional survey method on the entire worker population of 55 people. Data collection was carried out through interviews, questionnaires and secondary data. Measurement of work stress variables using Stress Symptoms and workload and mental demands variables using the NIOSH Job Stress Questionnaire Data analysis uses multiple linear analysis. The research results showed that 69,1% of respondents experienced work stress, consisting of 61,8% moderate stress, 7,3% severe stress, and the remaining 30,9% mild stress. Of the five independent variables tested (age, work period, marital status, workload and mental demands), age, work period and workload had a significant influence on work stress (p < 0.05). Meanwhile, the other two variables did not have a significant effect. Overall, these factors contributed 44,7% to work stress levels, the rest was influenced by other factors not examined in the research. To reduce stress, recommended steps include refreshing assignments, regular stress coping training and psychological counseling, and increasing social support through communication forums.
